Cassandre

Superhero: Dancehall Super Queen

Garment: Bustier with LED lights and Buzzer

Function: Press on the soft switches in the garment and LED’s and a buzzer will go off.

Hard Cicuit : Standard LED’s in breadboard placed in parallel with a switch and buzzer.

Soft Circuit: The bustier

Materials:

Fabric glue

conductive thread

conductive fabric

$3 buzzer from Radio Shack

sequins

needles

thread

boning

Vinyl green fabric which can indcate body heat when you touch it by changing color .

electrical tape

felt

LED’s (green,red and yellow)

black silk

Challenges: Sewing my LED’s over and over again  because I was’nt aware that I was sewing them to each other.careless mistake

Remebering not to sew the LED’s too tight with the condutive thread in order to allow the elecricity to flow easier.

Should have put some sort of second layer or backing on the bustier before I sewed it together and I could have  sewn the LED’s conductive thread  and fabric to it.

getting the conductive thread to lay flat on the back of bustier

figuring out how to design a good soft switch

LED’s stop working for no reason

finding out that when it is to hot in the atmoshere  it activates all the heat in my fabric so until the weather cools down I have to use cold water to see the color difference in my fabric

feeling like I am wasting my expensive thread

Sucess: Getting my buzzer and LED’s to work

Sewing sequins for the first time

Next Step:

to use surface mount LED’s  and tradtional beading

put in a zipper

make some sort of bottom for the top of the garment finish sewing the sequins
